Elixir is the first resource players are introduced to within many of the Clash games. This resource is often collected through machines or characters and then used to upgrade things within each of the games or just simply play. On this page we are breaking down the various ways that Elixir can be found and used within the different Clash games.

Clash of Clans

In Clash of Clans, Elixir is gained from a pump that can be leveled up, to produce more Elixir, called an Elixir Collector. Elixir is pumped from the Ley Lines, an unlimited resource, through to your village. Once your Elixir Collectors are collected, Elixir is stored in the Elixir Storage. The amount of Elixir a player currently has is displayed at the top right side of the screen, directly under Gold. Elixir can be used to purchase or upgrade troops, Army Buildings, Gold Mines, Gold Storage, Dark Elixir Storage, Dark Elixir Drills, and various decorations.

Elixir has a few different variants, including Dark Elixir and Building Elixir.

Clash Royale

In Clash Royale Elixir is used to place cards onto the battlefield. This is literally the key in playing the game itself and is a very important gameplay element.

During a battle, the player will start with 5 Elixir, but can hold a maximum of 10 Elixir during the battle. Elixir is produced gradually throughout a battle, at a rate of 1 Elixir every 2.8 seconds After 2 minutes in battle, each player will receive 1 extra Elixir and Elixir production will be doubled for the rest of the battle, at a rate of 1 Elixir every 1.4 seconds. In the last minute of Overtime or in Triple Elixir Battles, Elixir is produced at 1 Elixir every 0.9 seconds.

Battles which are 2v2 change Elixir Production - this production rate is 15% slower than normal as a default, coming in at 1 Elixir every 3.2 seconds. During the last minute of Overtime or Double Elixir times, Elixir production is 30% slower than normal, at 1.8 seconds per Elixir. In Triple Elixir Battles, production is at 1.2 seconds per Elixir.

On the flip side, in Infinite Elixir Mode, Elixir is generated 7x faster than the normal rate, at 1 Elixir every 0.4 seconds.

Clash Mini

There currently isn't any Elixir in Clash Mini.
